YOSHIDA & Co. 90th Anniversary Project 004: “STONE ISLAND | PORTER”

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Yoshida & Co., we are releasing a collaboration collection with STONE ISLAND.

STONE ISLAND is a world-leading brand in product design and innovation in apparel. Since its founding in Italy in 1982, the brand has consistently pushed the boundaries of fabric experimentation, advancing technology with a strong focus on functionality and practicality. Its designs—blending fashion, luxury, and street elements in a unique mix—have earned a passionate following across generations and cultures.

This first-ever capsule collection features four types of bags along with a hooded parka and cargo trousers that can be worn as a set. Each item uses PORTER’s signature bonded nylon and undergoes STONE ISLAND’s unique corrosion process (a color-removal technique through fabric erosion), creating a one-of-a-kind appearance for each piece. This special capsule embodies both brands’ shared spirit of innovation and craftsmanship.

The outer fabric features a blue nylon twill with an elegant sheen. After the bags are sewn, craftsmen manually apply the corrosion process using a spray method, giving each item a completely unique color tone. The bleached areas create a worn-in, natural gradient finish. Afterwards, the product undergoes a special water-repellent treatment during the washing stage to set the effect.

The backpack, helmet bag, and crossbody bag all feature distinctive designs with large pockets across the front. Each model also includes a military-inspired MOLLE system on the front, allowing users to attach or remove pouches and accessories freely using carabiners or similar tools.

The backpack is a functional item equipped with numerous pockets on the front and sides. Belongings can be neatly organized in pockets of varying sizes and shapes. The side zipper allows direct access to the main compartment, while the interior includes a 13-inch laptop pocket that can be reached from the side without opening the flap.
