YOSHIDA & Co. 90th Anniversary Project 010 "Marc Newson x PORTER"

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Yoshida & Co.'s founding, we are releasing a collaboration item with Marc Newson.

Marc Newson is a world-renowned industrial designer from Australia. His work spans a wide range of fields, from furniture, ships, automobiles, and aircraft to architecture, watches, jewelry, and fine art installations.
Known for his unconventional approach to materials, techniques, and manufacturing processes, his unique aesthetic, characterized by pure form and bold color, has resulted in numerous masterpieces that represent postmodern and post-modern design.

This collaboration features a fully reversible design made from two iconic materials. One side features hickory, a material deeply associated with Marc Newson, while the other side features PORTER's signature nylon twill, allowing you to change the look to suit your situation or mood.

Marc Newson himself has long been a fan of hickory clothing, and the fabric he chose for this collection is known for its durability and practicality. The indigo and white striped twill weave provides both strength and functionality, while also showcasing its beauty. The material's unique charm lies in its ability to develop a patina and soften with age. The

reversible interior is made of bonded nylon twill. The subtle sheen of nylon twill creates a beautiful contrast with the rich hue of the hickory.

Furthermore, the zipper tape and leather pulls feature orange, the iconic color of PORTER and Marc Newson, as accents.

, "These bags are approachable and practical, yet they also evoke a multilayered story, not only through the functionality of the material and clarity of design, but also through the history of the fabric and its versatility, which can be expanded depending on how it's used. The interior and exterior of the bags coexist, not in conflict, offering the user both practical possibilities and the joy of use."

To achieve a fully reversible daypack, Yoshida & Co. developed a new, original reversible structure. This allows for comfortable use on both sides without compromising the daypack's functionality. This

special item embodies the shared values of PORTER and Marc Newson, who continue to explore functional structures while maintaining a timeless design.

The helmet bag is just the right amount of volume, making it ideal for overnight trips. Both sides feature a side pocket on the right side for storing small items. The hickory fabric side features an exterior zippered pocket and a flat pocket for separating and storing items.
